April 9 @ 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm

Florida SouthWestern State College’s Center for Undergraduate Research and Creativity and the Lee County Black History Society have partnered for an afternoon art exhibition featuring students in the FSW Arts programs. The exhibit will feature original art and performances by FSW students working with notable figures and oral histories from the Lee County Black History Society archives and Williams Academy Black History Museum. You can also go to the Florida Heritage Project website and listen to the podcast interview with Autumn Watkins Holloway, Director of the Lee County Black History Society and learn about the history of the institution, Fort Myers’ Dunbar community, and the exciting projects in the works at the Lee County Black History Society, including the planned African American Cultural Center. The interview is available here.

The event is free and open to the public and part of the FSW Research Expo. Funding for this program is provided through Community Project Grant from Florida Humanities with funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities and in partnership with the Florida SouthWestern State College.
